DGA Maîtrise de l'information, based in Bruz, is the technical expert of the Ministry of the Armed Forces for information and communication systems, cybersecurity, electronic warfare, and tactical and strategic missile systems. Direction Générale de la Sécurité Extérieure

Attached to the Ministry of the Armed Forces, the General Directorate for External Security (DGSE) is the French secret service. It conducts intelligence operations abroad, gathering, analyzing, and making available to French authorities intelligence relating to geostrategic issues and threats that could affect the nation.

As an intelligence and action service, it contributes to knowledge and anticipation, and to the prevention of threats to French interests. The DGSE masters all methods of human, technical, and operational intelligence gathering and has a staff of nearly 7,200, 68% of whom are civilians.
